In order to solve the problem of supply of raw materials, Sun Paper began to implement the “forest-pulp-paper integration” project in 2008 in Laos, which is a country with rich forest resources, low labor cost and the geographical advantage of bordering with China.

So far, the Laos Base has developed an annual production capacity of 300,000-ton dissolving pulp, 800,000-ton high-end packaging paper and 400,000-ton regenerated fiber pulp. While accelerating the papermaking and pulping projects in Laos, Sun Paper gives priority to its investment in the development of fast-growing woods in Laos. So far, the woodland planting area of the Laos Base has reached 60,000 hectares and the rotation area has reached about 50,000 hectares. Sun Paper will experience an annual increase of 10,000-12,000 hectares of planting area, take gradual steps to increase its planting areas in the foreseeable future and effectively enhance its self-sufficiency rate of raw materials. The Laos Base accepts regular inspections conducted by industrial & trading, environmental protection, agriculture & forestry, and finance & taxation authorities, ensures that all of its licenses are extended on time, complete and valid, all of its emission indexes meet or exceed the EU standard, and has maintained a good development momentum in terms of workplace safety, environmental protection and steady production.
